Wolverine’s X-Men Spin-off movie was a difficult one to make. He has thousands of fans who read a bad ass mutant war machine Wolverine in the comic, But it seemed they needed to sell the movie to an under 15s audience too which took away from the real character.
The sequel on the other hand looks to bring back the kick-ass side of Wolverine. Based on the Chris Claremont and Frank Miller Wolverine story where he travels to Japan and rediscovers who he is. One of the most famous story lines for both Wolverine and Frank Miller over the last few decades.
The story is being developed into a movie by Chris McQuarrie who wrote Mission Impossible and The usual Suspects. It’s already looking to be an amazing come back for The Wolverine.
One of the main villains in the movie will be Silver Samurai as confirmed by Jackman himself at SDCC this year. Filming will start in October and take place mainly in Japan.
It’s going to be another amazing comic book movie set for 2012 along with the Dark Knight Rises and the Avengers although it could move to early 2013 for a less competitive year.
Hugh Jackman has confirmed he is working on another Wolverine movie with director James Mangold. The film is currently set for a 2017 release date.
