The first Hulk movie was released in 2003 which kicked off the current Marvel movie franchise. Now with Disney behind the wheel and the Avengers team up movie round the corner it feels like it should all be coming to and end. The truth is Marvel have only just begun the plans for comic book movie domination.
The first Thor movie had a lot to live up to with the quality of the comic book movies over the last decade, many doubted a world of gods and magic could compete with films like Ironman and Batman which are based in fairly realistic worlds compared to other comic book movies.
Kenneth Branagh did an amazing job of directing Thor and creating a world which could not only fit into the current Marvel movies but be the support which holds them all together now.
Suffering the same fate as Jon Favreau with the Ironman movies Kenneth Branagh has had to step down as Director in Thor 2 due to too strict deadlines from Marvel and Disney.
Fear not a replacement has been found as Patty Jenkins steps in to Direct. Patty Jenkins is mostly well know for “Monster” the movie she both wrote and directed but since then she hasn’t done a cinematic movie.
Hopefully Thor 2 will be as successful as the first with Patty Jenkins directing but the news isn’t what a lot of fans wanted as she hasn’t worked on anything like Thor before. Fear not nobody really knew who Christopher Nolan was before he made Batman Begins so it could be something to really look forward to.
