Everything We Know So Far
Marvel Studios is bringing The Fantastic Four into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) with a highly anticipated reboot titled The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Set for release on July 25, 2025, this film promises a fresh take on Marvel’s First Family, with a cast that has already generated considerable buzz.
Leading the team is Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian, The Last of Us), who will portray Reed Richards, aka Mr. Fantastic. Joining him as Sue Storm, the Invisible Woman, is Vanessa Kirby, best known for her roles in The Crown and Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One. The fiery Johnny Storm, or the Human Torch, will be played by Joseph Quinn, who shot to fame as Eddie Munson in Stranger Things. Rounding out the main cast is Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Bear, Andor), who takes on the role of Ben Grimm, aka The Thing.
The film’s villain lineup is equally exciting, with Ralph Ineson set to play the cosmic entity Galactus, a planet-devouring force that could pose a major threat to the MCU. Additionally, Julia Garner has been cast as Shalla-Bal, a version of the Silver Surfer. Veteran actor John Malkovich has also joined the film in a yet-to-be-revealed role, speculated to be Ivan Kragoff, aka the Red Ghost.
Directed by Matt Shakman, known for his work on WandaVision, the film is expected to embrace a 1960s aesthetic, setting itself apart from previous iterations by presenting the Fantastic Four as established heroes rather than retelling their origin story.
With an exciting cast and a unique creative direction, The Fantastic Four: First Steps is shaping up to be one of 2025’s biggest superhero films.
It’s a very interesting take on the FF, we’ve had three takes on it in the past if you count the 1994 movie. This one has separated itself from all of them from what we’ve seen in the trailer.
Although it looks like its set in the past I’m guessing its more of an alternative universe which is under a world ending attack from Galacticus. Although saying that I wouldn’t be surprised if the main villain at the end turns out to be Robert Downey Jr’s Doctor Doom.
