Tye Sheridan cast as Cyclops

Thanks to Bryan Singer the Director of the upcoming X-Men Apocalypse movie has announced the actor who will play the new Cyclops as Tye Sheridan.

Taking over from James Marsden who played Cyclops in four of the X-Men movie Tye Sheridan is fairly new to movies but has a lot currently in development.

The casting news tells us a lot about Cyclops role in the movie. He will be at a young age and the movie will probably follow his first days in Xavier’s school.

With the age difference it’s unlikely we will see all the X-Men return for this movie. Rogue didn’t join until Cyclops was older so she probably wont return. It also points to Cyclops not having a major part in this movie even though he will turn into the leader of the X-men. That could mean they have cast him young to let him grow into the part of a few more movies.
