Robert Rodriguez in talks to direct Deadpool movie

The Wolverine origin movie was taken with mixed opinions but the general view was it could and should have been a lot better. One good thing that did come out of it was the prospect of having a Deadpool movie spin-off.

Although it’s set as a spin-off it probably wont have anything to do with the Wolverine origins story and bring one of Marvels most under appreciated characters into his own movie.

News from comic con on the movie is that Robert Rodriguez (Planet Terror, The Faculty, Sin city) is looking over the script for the movie written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick who wrote Zombieland and are also working on the GI Joe sequel.

Ryan Reynolds is still tagged to play Deadpool after playing the role in X-Men Origins. The release date will likley by July-August 2012 as Green Lantern is still being filmed.
