"An explosive start to another unmissable series from Mark Millar"
/5 Reviewed by Adi MursecOn August 27th 2025 we’ve getting a new 5 part series from Mark Millar and Matteo Scalera.
When you see a comic by either of these comic legends I’d highly recommend a purchase, they have a track record of delivering work thats at the top of industry standards. Mark has grown into one of my favourite modern comic writers, he’s contributed to some of the best DC and Marvel books over the years lent his skills to align movies with their comics and someone who knows how to tell a good story.
Matteo Scalera is one of those artists that can’t do wrong in my book although if you visit his website he does confess to not being able to draw cats, and thats fine, I’m more of a dog person myself. He’s worked for all the biggest publishers over the years and with Mark on a few titles too.
Nemesis Forever #1 kicks off with an explosive start, actually there are several explosions in the first issue. It starts with Nemesis doing a lot of really bad stuff which we would expect from the worlds most evil terrorist.
Over the years I’ve lost track of the secret identity of Nemesis and I think from the first series it was obvious we didn’t need to know too much about him, the character is very much Nemesis with no origin for an alter ego needed. Although in this series it seems to follow Matthew Anders alias now taking up the alias Hans Berg. Not happy with being the most evil villain on the planet, he now wants to be the richest. Hans is a philanthropist who wants to colonise Mars, invest in tech companies while in the public eye and behind the camera wants to take over the planet with no human emotion in sight. Sounds familiar like a real life super villain.
One thing I’ve learnt from reading Mark Millar’s comics is never expect to know whats coming up, he always manages to give us a surprise ending or plot twist each issue and over the years this has been the definition of Nemesis. It’s a great series, not one for kids to pickup but usually a fun read about a super villain that has literally no limits to his destruction.
Having just read the first issue I’m already pretty excited to see what we have coming up in this five issue series.
