X-Men First Class
Since before the third X-men movie (Last Stand) in 2006 there have been rumours and speculation about an x-men prequel. The main reasons I guess would be the third movie sucked and they want to relaunch the franchise.
One of the first prequels planned was to be Magnito and Professor X's origin which got pushed back for the Wolverine movie. Again the Wolverine movie was both hit and miss but did spawn the Deadpool spin-off which should go into filming early in the new year.
The Wolverine movie also ended with a young team of X-men being formed by Xavier and one of his first x-men Cyclops. It's thought this is where the next X-men films will be based on in form of a movie adoption of the 2006 comic series X-Men: First Class, written by Jeff Parker.
The cast for the new movie will be announced early in the new year and and although nothing has been announced with regards to the characters we can make a few educated guesses.

I am looking forward to seeing how much of this can be confirmed by an X-Men First Class Trailer which should be out for summer 2010.
