WanderVision just opened thousands of possibilities for the MCU

I have to admit I’ve not been a massive fan of Disney+ since it’s launch, sure its had the Madelorian which was amazing but one show can’t carry a streaming service. Although I have enjoyed watching the 90s X-men and Spider-man cartoons its not been enough to warrant by subscription. Even WandaVision was making me think I need to cancel Disney+

That was until the last 30 seconds of episode 5 of WandaVision. For me the show felt like it was moving way too slow, I’m used to movies or binge watching series for hours. WandaVision was just 20 minutes of show a week and at first didn’t deliver much. That revolution at the end of episode 5 made me think of all. they can do.

For those who don’t mind spoilers or have seen the episode. It’s the bit where Wanda brings back her brother Pietro aka Quick Silver. Although it wasn’t Aaron Taylor-Johnson Quick Silver, it was X-men First Class Quick Silver played by Evan Peters.

Marvel Studios have been teasing the multiverse for years, it’s been pretty much confirmed for Doctor Strange 2 and Spider-man 3 but we didn’t know to what extent.

Now they have jumped right in and connected all the Fox X-men movies to the MCU along with the Sony Spider-man movies with the coming of Spider-man 3.

Personally I wasn’t expecting any of this as we have had so many rumours of recasting character like Wolverine, potentially they could bring Hugh Jackman back, even if it was just for a cameo. I think it’s a great idea as they can bring back characters without having to build up the whole origin we’ve seen before.

Phase 3 of the MCU ended on a high which a lot of people including me thought would not be topped. Now I’m thinking Phase 4 will be even bigger. The possibilities are almost endless for the MCU now, I say almost because they still aren’t doing anything with the Fantastic Four and I doubt any of the old FF actors would return to those characters for numerous reasons.

One minor problem we might see is that actors we loved in other roles may not be recast as new characters. For example Michael Fassbender was a great Magneto and there is a good chance we might see him return as Magneto now too. But what is less likely is seeing him be recast as Doctor Doom or another character in the future MCU.

Overall Disney have just united the winder MCU, something that probably wouldn’t have been possible pre Disney.
