Alien: Covenant trailer shows off new xenomorphs

When Prometheus was released in 2012 nobody could have predicted how popular Ridley Scotts return to the alien franchise could be. Taking fans back to tease the Aliens origin has hooked a lot of fans of the original movies.

Ridley Scott returned to the Alien movies because there was one thing none of the sequels really explored, the true origin of the xenomorphs. It it something that has been teased since we first saw the remains of the giant engineer in the first Alien movie. Prometheus was the first in a four part origin story, each one will take us one step closer to who the engineer‘s are and why they created the genetic weapons of war.

The crew of the Covenant are bound for a distant planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship find what they believe to be an uncharted and populated paradise. What they discover is a dark, dangerous world, whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

The trailer reminds me a little of the 2010 movie Predators which was also set on a distant forest planet used by the Predators as a game reserve. Which sparks the question, which would you rather be stranded on a planet of – Aliens or Predators?
