Blade joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Blade in many ways is Marvels closest answer to Batman. Both hunters and both responsible for making comic book movies cool and generally acceptable for adults to watch.

Marvel Studios have recast Blade and moving forward with a new series of movies starring Oscar winner Mahershala Ali as the title role. It was both exciting and a little disappointing news for Blade fans as for the last ten years or so there has been hope we might see Wesley Snipes return to one of his most famous roles. there was even news that he had pitched several Blade related projects to Marvel but it looks like Marvel wanted to go in a younger direction.

Personally I think it would be in good taste to work with Snipes on a project, maybe a TV show with Blade’s daughter or something, but it’s understandable why they would recast as as if they are planning a trilogy it could take 10 years to orchestrate and that would make Snipes going on 70.
