Red Tornado joins Supergirl

The Supergirl writers are getting more and more adventurous as they as Ultron Red Tornado joins the line-up of super villains set for the first series. At the moment he looks like he will start out to be a villain in the series but as the show progresses this could all turn around.

The series has cast Iddo Goldberg (Salem, Peaky Blinders) to play “the most advanced android the world has ever seen. Designed by scientist T.O. Morrow (also Iddo Goldberg) for the U.S. Army as the ultimate super weapon, he soon becomes sentient, posing a grave danger to National City.

If you’ve watched Age of Ultron the story may sound a little familiar but I guess it’s the age old Frankenstein creation sketch but to be honest some of the best things DC has done on TV has been inspired by movies. Be it Arrow drawing a lot of inspiration from The Nolan Dark Knight movies or Atom being the closest thing TV has to Iron Man, if it works don’t change it.

For those of you who have been lucky enough to see the pilot episode for Supergirl you’ll know this show is at the top of the class for comic to TV incarnations. They did an amazing job of casting Supergirl and we need more live action female superheroes so I hope this show keeps up the good work. When the series airs it’s going to make huge waves and give Flash/Arrow a run for their money.
