David Harbour cast as Hellboy

Being a huge fan of the original Hellboy movies it’s hard to imagine someone other than Ron Parlman playing the big red guy. He’s set a high bar when it comes to bringing a comic book hero to life and made two beautiful movies which will be hard to top, but with nearly 10 years past it would be hard to make a third movie now.

Thanks to Hellboy creator Mike Mignola we have news of a reboot which will bring Hellboy back to the cinema but this time as an R rated movie.

Mignola hasn’t given away too much information yet but it looks to have signed David Harbour (Green Hornet, Suicide Squad, Stranger Things) to play Hellboy.

It’s going to be hard to imagine a new Hellboy movie without the original cast, usually if a comic book movie franchise doesn’t get to make a full trilogy it’s because it didn’t find an audience, Hellboy might now have been the biggest comic book movie but it was popular and did an amazing job of bringing the comic to life.

It wouldn’t have been an easy decision to move forward with a reboot but it was bound to happen sooner or later and at least now we might see a Hellboy movie in the next year or two.
