Final Fantasy VII coming back to PC soon

Thinking back to the golden days of computer games in the late 90s with games like Tomb Raider, Mario World and Resident Evil no game has made more die hard fans than Final Fantasy VII. With nearly a decade of rumors of a remake we finally have what could be the best confirmation of a remastered version of the classic RPG from Square that fans have had.

The leaked site was finalfantasyviipc.net along with http://dev.finalfantasyviipc.com/ which was sneakily launched 15th June 2012 and has since been taken down has some top secret info. The domain name registrant organization is Square Enix Holdings Co., Ltd. and has so far not had an official press release but looks to be the real thing.

The new game doesn’t look like a full remake but a slightly remastered version of the game which will have a few online extras including the ability to buy items in mid play while your deep inside a dungeon.

The only information we have about the game is that which we managed to scrape off the site before it was taken down.

It may be possible that I’m looking more forward to playing this than the GOTY edition of Arkham City which will be out September.

This is amazing news for everyone who has been applying numerous patches to make the Windows 95/98 PC game compatible with a modern computer including the infamous Chocobo patch. I’ve still got the original edition on Play station and PC but even so the new Online PC edition looks too amazing to pass up.

Other features the game will likely include but haven’t been confirmed yet are HD cut scenes, an online achievement score board, possibly more weapons and who knows maybe the ability to save Aerith.

The original edition of FFVII had several releases which differed slightly in the story which mainly involved the monster weapons appearing. Hopefully the new online PC edition will be the complete final PC edition and could even feature more scenes to make the story clearer surrounding the whole involvement of Zack.
